I really would like to create a parent newsletter via Blog this year. I have a moodle site that I keep up and advertise but I don't know that very many parents look at it. http://nwonline.nwresd.org/fgsd/ (Joseph Gale, Serena Chidester, log in as a guest) I guess my dilemma is how to get them excited and start using it as a way to communicate. I think am stuck in a cycle where I am not excited about it becasue I am not sure anyone is looking. And I wonder if nobody is looking because it is not terribly exciting.
In the past, I have used blogger as a tool for students to reflect about their math learning. I would post a few reflection questions and students would post their reflections as comments. It is amazing how students' writing is so much better when they know that it will be online and other students and adults have access to it.
